Description:
Here's a more challenging bike trip, now that we've got our "legs". We'll climb up to the district of Silver Springs, then along and up Nose Hill Drive to its very top, at the district of Citadel. From there we can loop behind Nose Hill, and take advantage of the attractive Edgemont Ravine. All the height we worked so hard for will be given back to us as we descend all the way to Nose Creek. We then return via the Bow River pathway. This trip has a lot of nice scenery, right in the city! We can make some photo stops!

Trip Distance: 48 Kilometers Return / 4 to 5 Hours
Elevation Gain: 180 Meters / 590 Feet
Difficulty Level: Strenuous. The most challenging will be the climb up to Silver Springs. From there the climb on the Nose Hill Drive pathway is just "regular", with occasional opportunities to use second or even third gear. Although hard work, at no point should one need to "stand on the pedals".
Rendezvous Point: North Edworthy Park, northeast corner, or as space is available.
Pathway and Roadway: Approximately 3 blocks are on a quiet residential street. All the rest is on pathway.
Bike Equipment: Your bike should have a bell to warn pedestrians and other traffic. Also, please consider getting a headlight if you do not already have one. It is also good practice to have a spare tire and an air pump.
E Bikes: You are able to operate an E Bike on a City pathway as long as it is “assist only” and does not have a throttle. (City of Calgary Bylaw).
