Description:
Here’s a moderate bike trip and we will be travelling through a part of the City many of us may not be familiar with.
• Events are subject to cancellation or change on short notice due to inclement weather or forest fires.
• Carpooling – please use your own discretion and what you are comfortable with.
• Washrooms may not be available - please be prepared to pack out what you bring in, such as
Toilet paper, etc.
• Please make yourself aware of the risks in participating in this sort of event and decide
accordingly.
• Don`t forget the usual items; bear spray, proper clothing, water, food, equipment and first aid kit.
• Trip participants are asked to provide their cell contact information and emergency contact
information to the trip coordinator, prior to, due to the 'meet at trail head' requirement.
• Please do not sign up if you are experiencing any flu like, cold, or Covid19 symptoms.
Trip Distance: 25 Kilometers Return / 4 to 5 Hours
Elevation Gain: 200 Meters / 656 Feet
Mid-Point: CTV Calgary, a.k.a. CFCN Television located at Broadcast House
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Starting Point: Travel west on Glenmore Trail, which becomes Stoney Trail after the junction with Sarcee Trail. Approximately 2.4 to 3.0 kilometers west of this junction, take the right exit for Discovery Ridge Boulevard / 69th Street S.W. Loop around so that you are heading south on Discovery Ridge Boulevard. Go straight through the traffic circle and at the bottom of the little hill, you will a brown sign for Griffith Woods Park. Turn left and proceed into the park.
Type of Terrain: There are about 600 meters of bike route on residential streets. The rest will be on a bike pathway.
Clothing: Please bring a layer of clothing that you are comfortable in wearing while riding.
Bike Equipment: Your bike should have a bell to warn pedestrians and other traffic. Also, please consider getting a headlight if you do not already have one. It is also good practice to have a spare tire and an air pump.
E Bikes: You are able to operate an E Bike on a City pathway as long as it is “assist only” and does not have a throttle. (City of Calgary Bylaw).

Guest Policy: The Club is currently discouraging guests of a member attending an event at this time.
Policy on Pets: Pets will not be allowed.
