Description:
Lower Cataract Creek is an amazing trip through occasionally overgrown trails to two beautiful and majestic waterfalls, with deep turquoise and green pools.
Potential Hazards:
Warning: this trail is adjacent to dangerous cliffs. The trail is quite safe, but please be very careful when you approach the edge to get that great picture or view. Also, overgrown sections of trail may have the odd branch to scratch one or the odd root to watch out for.
• Events are subject to cancellation or change due to inclement weather or forest fires.
• Carpooling - use your own discretion and what you are comfortable with.
• Washrooms may not be available - please be prepared to pack out what you bring in, such as
Toilet paper, etc.
• Please make yourself aware of the risks in participating in this sort of event and decide
accordingly.
• Don`t forget the usual items; bear spray, proper clothing, water, food, equipment and first aid kit.
• Trip participants are asked to provide their cell contact information and emergency contact
information to the trip coordinator, prior to, due to the 'meet at trail head' requirement.
• Please do not sign up if you are experiencing any flu like, cold, or Covid19 symptoms.
Hiking Distance: 19 Kilometers / Approximately 7 hours (In and out)
Elevation Gain: 200 Meters / 656 Feet
Travel Distance: 125 Kilometers One Way / 1 Hour and 30 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Special Equipment: You will need water shoes in order to cross the creek.
Rendezvous Point: Heritage Park Gravel parking lot under the big "H". Please arrive 15 minutes before so a vehicle convey can be arranged, as we bee leaving at 7:30 a.m. sharp.
