Glenmore Reservoir

Description:  Evening Bike Ride around the Glenmore Reservoir.

 

•  Events are subject to cancellation or change on short notice due inclement weather or forest fires.

•  Washrooms may not be available - please be prepared to pack out what you bring in, such as

   Toilet paper, etc.

•  Please make yourself aware of the risks in participating in this sort of event and decide

   accordingly.

•  Don`t forget the usual items; proper clothing, water, food, equipment and first aid kit.

•  Trip participants are asked to provide their cell contact information and emergency contact

    information to the trip coordinator, prior to, due to the 'meet at trail head' requirement.

•  Please do not sign up if you are experiencing any flu like, cold, or Covid19 symptoms.

 

Cycling Distance:  15 Kilometers / 1.5 Hours

Elevation Gain:       30 Meters / 98 Feet

Difficulty Level:       Easy to Moderate, Except for Weaselhead and Rockview Hills

 

Trailhead: South Glenmore / Weaslehead Parking Area West – 3520 – 90th Avenue S.W.  (90th Avenue and Oakmount Drive S.W. – 2.9 kilometers west of 14th Street S.W.)

Reward:  Purchasing ice cream at McDonalds in Glenmore Landing (if you want to).


Safety Considerations:  Pathway may have heavy population, please be kind to pedestrians and use the separate bike paths when they are provided.  Please bring a mask in case you need to go indoors, as per our pandemic regulation.  Washrooms may or may no be available.

 

Bike Equipment:  Your bike should have a bell to warn pedestrians and other traffic.  Also, please consider getting a headlight if you do not already have one.  It is also good practice to have a spare inter tube and an air pump.

E Bikes:  You are able to operate an E Bike on a City pathway as long as it is “assist only” and does not have a throttle.   (City of Calgary Bylaw).


Guest Policy:  The Club is currently discouraging guests of a member attending an event at this time.

Please Note:  A minimum of 4 members are required for event to go ahead as scheduled


Policy on Pets:  Pets will not be allowed.

All payments are final. Please review the charge(s) and know what you are paying.
Refunds may be considered in extenuating circumstances, if there is no cost to the Club, or if the event is full and another member fills your spot. A $25.00 fee will apply. Inform your event host, and treasurer@calgaryskiclub.org as soon as possible.
Please arrange appropriate cancellation insurance.

If you register and cannot attend, please cancel your registration as soon as possible. Doing so ensures we are not waiting for you and allows others to register. Please email the event host if you missed the cancellation cut-off date and cannot cancel online.
