Description:

4 days of cycling the KVR rail trail from Beaverdell to Naramata cycling through the fabulous Myra Canyon. Camping at campsites each night along the way. Self-guided, self-supplied and self-catered. The actual (4) cycling dates of this trip will be somewhere in the weeks of September 11- 20 (TBD) (with a possible wine tour after). Does not include traveling days to and from the trail.

What is needed to make this trip a go:

At least 6 participants.

A car shuttle between Beaverdell and Naramata.

Option 1; a volunteer to carry our gear and drive up each day to secure our next camp spot.

Option 2;  a rotation of cycling participants to drive the gear vehicle to each site.

Option 3;  carry all our gear on our bikes to each site.

The KVR is a defunct railway that is now a popular cycling trail. The steepest grade on this trail is not more than 2.2 degrees. Day 1 would be 30kms long.  Day 2, 22km. Day 3, 50km (which takes us on all 18 famous trestle bridges of Myra Canyon. ) Day 4, 50km down to Naramata ( possible wine tour if there is interest.)

I have had this trip planned for years but have not actually done it, although I have day cycled some of the Myra Canyon trestles a couple times and can attest to their beauty. If you have any questions please email me at dstefura@telus.net

Deadline for this expression of interest will be May 26, however,  the sooner the better to book start and finish accommodations.
