REGISTRATION IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED, WILL RE-OPEN WEDNESDAY APRIL 5 AT 9 PM Travelling to Boulder Pass will give outstanding views, and a long, usually fun, run down! Distance: 21 km return Elevation gain: 655 metres Difficulty: Advanced Driving Distance: 180 km one way Drivers Note: Vehicles will need a National Park Pass Hazards: Little avalanche hazard if we stay on the main trail. There is a steep (but wide) hill descending from Temple, which includes a right turn over a bridge at the bottom. Special Recommendation: Climbing Skins to put on your ski bases. They may be available for rental from U of C Outdoor Centre (with Light Touring ski rental) Optional Bonus: Visit Temple Lodge on the way back. Temple Lodge has washrooms and dining facilities. This trip is challenging both for distance, and for skill, requiring good snowplow capability. We will have the unique pleasure of sharing parts of the trail with the downhill skiers patronizing the Lake Louise ski hill! Climbing Skins for your ski bases will reduce the effort required to get up to the Temple Lodge area. We don't have to make it all the way to Boulder Pass - we may turn around at Half-Way Hut, which is also a good place to stop for lunch. In that case the Distance would be 14.2 km return, and the vertical climb would be 495 metres.
