We will meet at the Westhills Shopping Mall parking lot at 8:30 am (look for white BMW in front of Winners) and then convoy to the Sandy Cross Conservation Area where we will regroup at approximately 9 am. A $10 per car parking fee is in effect at the Sandy Cross conservation area and each of us must pre-register at http://www.crossconservation.org/ and pay the $10 parking fee in advance, online. There we will do a moderate hike of 8 km to 10 km through rolling hills on easy trails including self-provided snack / rest breaks along the way. This will take about two hours. From there we will take a further 20 minute drive to the Leighton Art Centre located at 282027 144 St W, Millarville where we will enjoy a wander on the grounds and one of the most spectacular mountain views anywhere near Calgary. Also recommended, is a walk through the art centre to view inspiring landscapes by local artists before heading back to Calgary mid-afternoon.
