Yoho Valley Road

Distance : 10 km return
Trailhead: There is a large parking lot at the trailhead, located 4 km east of Field at the turn off for the Yoho Valley Road ( to the right if travelling from Lake Louise), just after the downhill at Kickinghorse Pass.
The road begins at the east end of the parking lot and goes to some switchbacks after about 5km. (pg 147, Chick Scott, Ski Trails of the Canadian Rockies). We will turn back at the switchbacks, which begins avalanche terrain.
Note: One of the trip leaders will be bringing her 7 month old dog with her for the trip to test out trip leading with dog. This is one of the collection of dog-friendly trails in the area.

Meeting Time and Place: Please arrive no later than 7:15 a.m., in the northeast corner of the Edworthy North Parking Lot, to arrange carpooling as we will be departing at 7:30 a.m. sharp.
Driving Distance: Approximately 2 Hours and 19 Minutes / 208 Kilometers one way. The Club suggests a compensation of $0.06 cents per kilometer both ways for the driver(s) of the carpools.
Notice of Cancellation: The trip leaders will contact registered participants by telephone or by email if the trip is cancelled or postponed. Participants are asked to contact the trip leader if they have a change of plans.
What to Bring: Please view the Equipment Checklist under Activities, on the main page, and select Cross Country and Showshoeing.
Guest Policy: Guests are welcome to 'try us out' on a couple of events. Please complete a Guest Waiver and bring it with you.
Apre Skiing: For those that are interested, we can stop in Field on the return trip for some refreshments and/or light snacks.
When: Sunday, Feb 2, 2020, 7:30 AM, returning 6 PM (maybe a bit earlier or later with road conditions)
