Set in amongst lodgepole pine forest, Redearth Creek climbs gradually to the Shadow Lake Trail. Likely we'll stop at the junction before the lodge turn off (where tracksetting ends), but if there's interest, we may see about grabbing a drink at Shadow Lake Lodge – this stretch is steep and may involve taking skis off to walk. The last few kilometres returning to the highway can be exhilarating.
