You have missed out if you have never skied SilverStar downhill or Sovereign Lake cross-country! This year, improve your skiing with this fantastic early-season vacation.
Boasting some of the best early season snow for downhill and World Cup cross-country skiing, these ski areas open in late November and typically see 7 metres of snowfall every winter, located in the Okanagan Valley 22 km NE of Vernon, BC.
Alpine
SilverStar: This is not a wee ski hill; 3282 acres of downhill skiing with 132 marked runs, 15% beginner, 40% intermediate, 35% advanced and 15% expert steep and deep runs. Generally, the snow is dry and 100% natural; dry champagne powder is magical. The Star rarely endures a big whiteout, like its neighbour!
Nordic
Silver Star has 54 km of Nordic Trails, interconnected with the 55 km of trails at Sovereign Lake Provincial Park. All trails are accessible from SilverStar Resort. Sovereign Lake has hosted World Cup and master races early in the season due to its high-elevation snow and world-class grooming, providing some of the best cross-country skiing on the planet.
Don’t miss out this year; WE ARE STAYING ON HILL in a magnificent spacious vacation home featuring 6 bedrooms and a loft, 5 full bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a washer and dryer and our own private hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. MAXIMUM 12 PERSONS at $460 each, including all taxes for 5 nights! Skiers will prepare their own breakfast and lunches, and group dinner meals will be sorted by participants once signup is complete.
Itinerary
Monday, Dec. 11th, check in after 4:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, Dec. 12th through Saturday, Dec. 15th - Skiing your style, your way
On Saturday, Dec. 16th, check out by 11 a.m., then ski the rest of the day or head home early.
Lift Tickets & Trail Passes
Down Hill. SilverStar has a 4 pack of tickets. .
For adults, 461.00 with tax.
For Seniors, 381.00 with tax.

Note - New info (Sept 26,2023). If you purchase a 4-day consecutive lift pass, the price is cheaper if purchased and used by Dec 15th.
Details are here Consecutive Lift Tickets. You must specify in advance what days the tickets will be used and they must be used on consecutive days.
You may buy individual day, 2 day, 3 day or 4 day tickets but these ones must be used consecutively.
This is different from the buy 4 days winter pass as that package allows your to use the days anytime during the year.
Cross Country
Trail Pass prices for Nordic skiing at SilverStar and Sovereign have yet to be announced for this season but are expected to be less than 30.00 tax included for each area.
Accommodation
All prices include a Calgary Ski Club Subsidy
For couples(or very close friends): Queen bedrooms @ 920.00 per couple for the week. ($460 per person.)
For solo males, there is a bedroom with two Double/Single Bunk Beds. We will put only 3 in the room. $460.00 per person
For solo females: There is a bedroom with a Double/Single Bunk Bed and a sleeping loft with 2 queen pullouts. $460.00 per person
Depending on interest, we may adjust rooming slightly. Please note due to the accommodation requirements, this is an adult-only event. No children or pets.
Pricing is for accommodation only. You are responsible for transportation, meals, lift tickets and other incidentals.
Once we have signups, we will arrange carpooling and food arrangements- via Zoom or coffee meeting. Or, you can fly and shuttle to the resort.
