Cross-Country Ski to Watridge Lake
About this event
Description: A wonderful easy trail that offers good exercise. (This trip is not suitable for complete beginners).
Special Note: Drivers will need to have a Kananaskis pass. (Please see below.)
Distance: 6.5 km to the lake and return.
Elevation Gain: 50 metres.
Difficulty: Mostly easy. A 20 metre drop down to the lake requires some snow-plowing skills.
Safety Precaution: This will be Winter! Make sure you are properly dressed and have extra clothing in your pack in case of emergency.
What to Bring: Extra clothing in pack, lunch, adequate fluids.
Event Trailhead: Mount Shark Trails, Smith-Dorrien Road, Kananaskis Country
Driving Distance: 130 km one-way.
Drivers Please Note: A Kananaskis Conservation Pass, which works on the vehicle licence plate number, is required. You may follow this link if you need to purchase one. The current suggested cost of gas is six cents per kilometre, per person, return. This value may be increased if high fuel prices persist.
