Cross Country Skiing Elk Pass / Hydroline - Kananaskis Country

About this event

Elk Pass (LD)

Description:

There is no doubt that Elk Pass on the Great Divide is the most popular destination in the park.  It isn’t the environs of the pass or the views, which attract, but rather the character of the trail itself coupled with consistently excellent snow conditions, which draws skiers back to Elk Pass long after the snow has melted from low down on the trail.

Hydroline is a kamikaze alternate from Elk Pass to Fox Creek.  For most of its length it utilizes the powerline right of way and is pretty dull  as trails go with a pet wind, which makes things uncomfortable, for a short time, and fills in the tracks.  The sudden drop into Fox Creek is the fun part!
