About this event

Cross Country
Winterstart 2021

WInterstart:  This is our Club's official kickoff to winter where we host a whole weekend of outdoor events in the Lake Louise area.  Come out and spend a day or the weekend at Lake Louise.  Meet new friends and renew old acquaintances.

Dates are:  Friday December 10 to Sunday December 12

Your opportunity to come out and downhill ski at Louise for 2 days, cross country ski at any of the many trails in the area, snowshoe, any combination of the above, or just enjoy the beauty of the area.  Lift tickets and equipment rentals are your responsibility.

Transportation as well as accommodations are on your own at Lake Louise Inn.  We had negotiated a deal with the Inn back in March, and they are currently selling their rooms for 25% less than what we were quoted a few months ago.  Since then we have negotiated an even better deal with Lake Louise Inn.  They have been extremely generous with their pricing for our club.  Get booked now, and if you have to cancel, do it before cancellation fees apply.

This year you do the hotel booking on your own.  Here is the unique booking link for Lake Louise Inn: https://reservations.travelclick.com/107317?groupID=3219992#/datesofstay

A box lunch will be provided at no cost to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, regardless of what you sign up for, even if you stay in.

Saturday evening get together is also on the club!  We will have a section of Lake Louise Inn partitioned off for our private use, and you will be able to eat and drink until you are fully  satiated, including juices and alcohol.   If Covid is still a thing, we will figure something else out that we can do safely on the club's dime and within AHS guidelines.

Answer the questions for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the questions section and confirm what you want to do so we can establish head counts for each event and order the box lunches.  A trip leader will be confirmed for each event in advance and will provide more details.

Please note that the Club requires proof of vaccinations for indoor socials and some service providers such as hotels and restaurants may also require this.

DISCLAIMERS:

As this is a sanctioned Calgary Ski Club Event, please be aware that Pets Are Not Allowed, and it will be in your best interest to leave them at home as per Club Policy.

If a member cancels less than 72 hours prior to Race Day, arrangements will be made to reimburse the Calgary Ski Club the cost of accommodations and lunch.
