Cycling - Canmore to Cascade Ponds + optional Minnewanka Loop

Cycling from Canmore to Cascade Ponds via the Legacy Trail, with an optional Minnewanka Loop.   The Minnewanka Loop is open to traffic but being Monday should not be too busy.

Starting Point: Canmore Visitor Info Center.

Gathering Time:  9:30 am

Trip Distance:   This will vary depending on how long you want to go.
From Camore to Cascade ponds approx 18km
Minnewanka Loop is ~10 Km

Difficulty:     Easy to Intermediate, there are some long grades on the Minnewanka Loop.  Some participants will be riding on mountain bikes and the pace will be slower.  Faster riders may go ahead. Please ride to your fitness level in terms of distance ensuring you have the oomph to return.

Hazards:  Bears, Heat, Sunburn. Bring your bear spray. Carry lots of water.  Don't forget sunscreen and snacks.

Bike Equipment: Your bike should have a bell to warn wildlife and other cyclists. It is also good practice to have a spare inner tube and an air  pump.

Current Pandemic Conditions:  please refer to our Covid page.  You will need a mask to use the washrooms unless you use the the same washrooms the bears do.
