Cycle 1A Highway (closed to vehicle traffic)

This ride is 17 km one way and return, or you can get a ride back from Johnson's Canyon back to your vehicle.  

Starting Point:    South end closed gate of Highway 1A off Hwy 1, just past Banff.

Gathering Time:  10:00 am at Hwy 1/1A closed gate. 

Trip Distance:    17 km one-way, 34 km total return.  We will have a truck parked at Johnson's Canyon to give anyone a ride back if unable.

Difficulty:     Intermediate, there are some long grades, and up and down in both directions. 

Hazards:  Bring your bear spray.

Bike Equipment: Your bike should have a bell to warn wildlife and other cyclists. It is also good practice to have a spare inner tube and an air  pump.

Current Pandemic Conditions:  We will be following Alberta Health Regulations in effect on July 18th.
