This is a training course available to the public through an outside agency, and registration is directly through them. This is not a Calgary Ski Club-hosted event, and members of the public may be in attendance. Please contact the course provider for details about the course and any Covid protocols they follow. We are posting simply as this as a service to our members and trip organizers. You may choose another class or agency that fits the guidelines for First Aid Training. Registration and class size is limited.
There are several courses offered on the June 25,26 and 27 weekend for Wilderness First Aid.
June 25th is level one, $95.00
June 25th and 26th level 2 $160.00
June 25th,26th and 27th level 3 $235.00
There are also many other courses offered on different dates.
Special notice for Trip Organizers only
The CSC strongly encourages all active hiking, biking, and kayaking trip organizers who do not currently hold first aid certification to obtain a basic 2-day first aid certification (St Johns Ambulance or equivalent) or a similar course like the ones mentioned above
Active organizers currently scheduled to host events this summer will be reimbursed up to $200.00 of the cost upon submission of receipt and proof of completion. If you have taken a course in the past and need recertification, we will cover the recertification cost for active organizers. Please contact office@calgaryskiclub.org if you want to confirm eligibility.
Also, active trip organizers will be provided with a first aid kit at no charge if they request/require one (MEC Adventure Backcountry First Aid Kit or equivalent) at a cost to the club of approx. 105.00 plus GST. Please contact office@calgaryskiclub.org if you wish to obtain a kit. We will consolidate orders at the end of May and purchase in one lot.
Reimbursement of first aid courses and kits is not available to the general membership.
