Ptarmigan Cirque up the Highwood Pass is one of my favorites.
Early morning hikes up this trail, I have seen big mountain sheep, herds of moms and "kids" (baby goats) and enjoyed a quick stop at the top for snacks.
A decent climb, the elevation gain is 846 ft (210 metres) over 4.5 km of winding treed trail, opening up to a great open view at the top. Trail extensions: up a scree slope, views in the crater up top (I call it the Moon view), as well as the Interpretive trail, we can take both if the group is up for it.
This climb takes about 2.5-3 hours and is rated moderate.
