About this event

Description:

This 6 kilometer one way hike into the famous and scenic Ink Pots and surrounding meadows. The -Ink Pots are mineral rich pools with the interesting colors that are breathtaking! The blue-green color of the ponds never ceases to amaze and the mountain scenery surrounding is nothing short of spectacular. So, what are the Ink Pots? The Ink Pots are a series of five cool springs where spring water percolates up through the sand and gravel. On the return trip, we will take a short walk to view the waterfalls at Johnston Canyon.

• Events are subject to cancellation or change due to inclement weather or forest fires.

• Carpooling - at your own discretion and what you are comfortable with.

• Washrooms may not be available - please be prepared to pack out what you bring in, such as toilet

paper, etc.

• Please remember the required items that you will need to attend this event, this includes proper footwear, such as hiking boots or hiking shoes. For your safety and comfort, running shoes will not be accepted. The Trip Coordinator as the right of refusal and may discourage any member attending.
• Please do not sign up if you are experiencing any flu or cold like symptoms.

Hiking Distance: 12 Kilometers Return / 3 to 4 Hours

Elevation Gain: 529 Meters / 1735 Feet

Maximum Elevation Gain: 1750 Meters / 5750 Feet

Travel Distance: 150 Kilometers One Way / 1 Hour and 45 Minutes

Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Rendezvous Point: North Edworthy Parking Lot. Look for the White Ford Explorer. Please arrive 15 minutes before (7:45 a.m.) so carpooling can be arranged, as we will be leaving at 8:00 a.m. sharp.

Please Note: For safety reasons, a minimum of 4 members are required for the event to go ahead as scheduled.

It is your responsibility to obtain appropriate cancellation and medical insurance.

Refunds will be paid in CSC points only.

To cancel your registration for an event:

a) Before the cancellation cutoff date, please log in to the website and use the "Cancel Registration" button on the event. If it is a paid event, you will be refunded in CSC points.

b) After the cancellation cutoff date, please notify the Event Host. A refund may be provided using CSC points but only if the event is full and someone fills your spot.
