Winterstart 2023!

This is our Club’s official kickoff to the winter season where we host a whole weekend of outdoor events in the Lake Louise area. Come out and spend the weekend at Lake Louise. Meet new friends and renew old acquaintances.
Dates: Friday, December 8th to Sunday, December 10h.
This your opportunity to come out and start the winter off with Downhill Skiing at Louise, Cross Country Ski at any of the many trails in the area. Lift tickets and equipment rentals are your responsibility.
In order to participate in WinterStart, you must register for any of the events, such as Cross Country Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Friday Night Pizza and / or the Saturday Evening dinner.
Transportation, accommodations, lunches and alcoholic refreshments are at your own expense at the Lake Louise Inn. We had negotiated a deal with the Lake Louise Inn and they have been extremely generous with their pricing for our Club. Get booked now, and if you have to cancel, do it before cancellation fees apply. You may also check Booking.com.
This year, you do the hotel booking on your own. To book, members that have registered for WinterStart Events, you can contact the Lake Louise Inn directly at (403) 522-3791 or toll-free at 1 (800) 661-9237. Unfortunately, the deadline has passed to receive the special discount on accommodations at the Lake Louise Inn.
The Club will be covering the cost of the Friday Pizza Night and partially subsidizing the Saturday Evening dinner; space is limited, so register early.
Please answer the questions when registering for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and confirm what activity you will be participating in so we can establish the appropriate attendees for the events, including the Saturday evening meal. Also, include any dietary requirements and allergies. An Event Host will be confirmed for each event in advance and will provide more details.
Itinerary
Friday, December 8th:
10:00 a.m.: Cross Country Skiers, please meet at the Natural Bridge at Emerald Lake to ski the Kicking Horse Trail. This event is now and weather dependent and the locating may change at the last minute.
10:00 a.m.: Downhill Skiers, please meet at the specified location at Lake Louise to collect ribbons.
4:00 p.m.: Check In time at the Lake Louise Inn.
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.: Please join us for Pizza in the Legends Restaurant, which the Club will cover! Your drink costs will be on you. This Event is Now Full
Saturday, December 9th:
9:00 a.m.: Downhill Skiers to meet at the specified base of Lake Louise Ski Hill to collect ribbons.
10:00 a.m.: Cross Country Skiers to meet in the main Lobby to check in before heading off to the Trailhead.
6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday Evening Dinner. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for socializing, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is partially subsidized, so you must register and pay to attend this event. There will be a cash bar. This Event is Now Full.
Sunday, December 10th
9:00 a.m.: Downhill Skiers to meet at the base of Lake Louise Ski Hill to collect ribbons.
10:00 a.m.: Cross Country Skiers to meet in the main Lobby to check in before heading off to the Trailhead.
11:00 a.m.: Is Check Out Time. Remember to check out before hitting the slopes and trails.
Cancellation Policy:
For Catering Purposes: If you plan to attend the Saturday Evening Dinner, RSVP by Tuesday, 2023 November 7th.
For Hotel Accommodations: Individual reservations are subject to a 72-hour cancellation policy, where cancelling within will result in a penalty of one night room and tax, which you are responsible for.

As this is a Calgary Ski Club Sanctioned Event, please be aware that Pets Are Not Allowed on any of the scheduled activities. If you bring your pet, please Do Not Leave Them in Your Vehicle Overnight.
