The Plain of Six Glaciers is one of the most notable and beautiful trails in Banff National Park that transports you into the heart of the Canadian Rockies’ most famous postcard view and sets you down beneath the glacier capped summits of Mounts Victoria and Lefroy. And if scenery isn’t enough, you can stop for a spot of tea on the sheltered verandah of one of the Rockies’ oldest backcountry teahouses.
Considerate as a moderate challenging route, it takes an average of 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
• Events are subject to cancellation or change on short notice due to inclement weather or fires.
• Carpooling: Please use your own discretion and what you are comfortable with.
• Washrooms may not be available - please be prepared to pack out what you bring in, such as toilet
paper, etc.
• Please make yourself aware of the risks in participating in this sort of event and decide accordingly.
• Don`t forget the usual items; bear spray, proper clothing, water, food, equipment and first aid kit.
• Trip participants are asked to provide their cell contact information and emergency contact information
to the trip coordinator, prior to, due to the 'meet at trail head' requirement.
• Please do not sign up if you are experiencing any flu like, cold, or Covid-19 symptoms.
Hiking Distance: 14.6 Kilometers Round Trip / 4 to 5 Hours
Elevation Gain: 588 Meters / 1929 Feet
Travel Distance: 175 Kilometers One Way / 1 Hour and 55 Minutes Approximately
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Rendezvous Point: North Edworthy Park, Northeast Corner, and Look for the Grey Honda CRV. Please arrive 15 minutes before so carpooling can be arranged, as we will be leaving at 7:00 a.m. sharp.

Policy on Pets: Pets Will Not be Allowed.
Please Note: Paid parking is in effect during the shuttle operational season from May 13th to October 10th. A valid parking permit is required between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., in addition to the Canada Park Pass, for all vehicles in the Lake Louise Lakeshore public parking lot. Look for pay stations when you arrive. The fee is $12.25 per vehicle per day. This cost will be distributed among vehicle passengers and will be added to the carpool cost.
Guest Policy: The Club is currently discouraging guests of a member, from outside the Club, attending an event at this time.
Please Note: A minimum of 4 members are required for the event to go ahead as scheduled.
Please make arrangements to purchase a Parks Canada Pass in advance.
