Thank You for a Great Trail Season
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, donors, staff, Board of Directors, Alberta Parks, and PLUZ staff for a fantastic trail season.
The Friends of Kananaskis Country and its volunteers have worked close to 9,000 hours in the field this year, which is a significant increase over previous years. As we like to say, we made a lot of things better this year, and we thank you for making it happen!
There are many highlights from the season and some are listed below:
Multiple trail sweeps of the High Rockies Trail to improve drainage and clear deadfall.
-
- - 24 days at the Canmore Nordic Centre to maintain and improve its amazing bike trails.
- - Re-establishing the Montane Trail in the Bow Valley after the fireguard work.
- - Much work in Public Lands with many days on Powderface Ridge, Jumping Pound Ridge, Elbow Valley Trail, Sulphur Springs Trail, and others.
- - Over 300 youth volunteered for FKC removing shepherdia from Kananaskis Village and Dogwood from the Bow Valley Provincial Park.
- - Several days working with Alberta Parks on the Wasootch Ridge trail re-route.
