Talk on Calgary Goes Skiing

John Walton  | Published on 7/4/2019

Historic Calgary Week is a project of Chinook Country Historical Society.
They organize over 60 free walks, talks and events during the “week” of July 26-August 5th.
This year our theme is “Oh, the fun we had: Pursuits and Passions”.

David Mittelstadt will give a talk based on the book “Calgary Goes Skiing” which is a history of the Calgary Ski Club.
From its origins in 1920 with Scandinavian ski jumpers in Elbow Park to the family racing club of the 1960s to today's adult recreation club, it's all here. This is the colorful story of the city's ski pioneers who helped establish the sport in Calgary and Banff National Park.

The “Calgary Goes Skiing” talk is on
Wednesday, July 31st at 7pm
at Memorial Park Library.
