Description:
The Pipestone Trails offer a good days' skiing for beginners and experts alike. It is a great place to get a few hours of fresh air if you have limited time. The Pipestone network comprises of five numbered trails, which are graded easy to moderate. We will be skiing Trail Number 1. The trails run through a mixture of forest and clearings.
The open area around the unnamed lake along the west arm of Trail Number 1, is an excellent area for a sunny lunch break. There are few hills of any steepness on Trail Number 1, however, the way the trails are laid out it is almost continuously uphill when skiing north (away from the parking lot) and then the return journey is a thrilling, but not excessively, steep downhill run. The trails are well marked with numbers and are easy to follow.
