Itinerary
Snowbird, Alta and Snowbasin are all close to SLC. Do you have a Mountain Collective or similar ski pass? Here is your opportunity to join some of your club members for a fabulous ski trip to SLC. The end of February has generally been a great time in Utah for excellent snow conditions as well as a great time to get away from the harsh Alberta weather.
Some folk might like to drive and take advantage of the Mountain Collective Resorts on the way to and from Calgary. Some might prefer to fly directly to SLC for which Delta and Westjet have daily direct flights and ongoing specials. Shared accommodations at a hotel with full breakfast and hot tubs, or an AirBNB, will be arranged once we have an indication or commitment from members. Car rentals for those who fly in is preferable for convenience and lots of rental options are available.
We can go as a group or you can tailor your specific dates to suit your needs.
When
Feb 22- Mar 2 (Flights direct with Westjet/Delta)
Feb 16 – Mar 2(( Drive from Calgary (space for 3 in a vehicle that is already going), ski Big Sky, Grand Targee and Jackson Hole, meet flight group Feb 22 in Canyon Pine (a little north of SLC) to ski Snowbasin Feb 23 & 24, then to SLC to ski Snowbird and Alta flying back Mar 2 to Calgary)).
Registration - 3 parts
1) Find a ski buddy from the Club to share a room. Or opt for single occupancy, or bring your family. If you would like a roommate, please contact the organizers and they will try to match you up. Please contact Mark Rubensohn (rubes@shaw.ca or text 4035127979) with your intentions soonest so we can begin planning for this trip.
Note - you may CUSTOMIZE the booking dates to suit your schedule, i.e. you may want to drive or fly and customize your dates.
2) Register yourself and any room-share buddy for the event on the Club Calendar - link to registration below. This is the best way for us to coordinate the trip.
3) Once I have numbers I will look into accommodation options for us. The plan would be to pay about CAD150 per night (or less if possible) for accommodation with breakfast, hot tub and pool in a double room.
