Lake Louise Virtual Loppet 2023

 

Be with us in Spirit if you can't join us in person!

 A Loppet is a "community fun race on cross country skis" open to all ages and abilities.  Calgary Ski Club's annual Lake Louise Loppet
is the longest-running in Western Canada.  It is held every year in Lake Louise on the first Sunday in March when the snow and
lake ice are at their peak condition.  It usually involves a mass start with many participants.

 

 What is a Virtual Loppet, you ask? Well, you simply register for the Loppet,  pay your entry fee, choose your distance like 10 Km or
20 Km, then you push, pull or drag yourself along a course of your choosing during the selected race period.  No need to come to
Lake Louise.  You can do it anywhere in the world where you can use cross country skis. 


You will have from December 23rd, 2022 to March 4th, 2023 to complete your designated distance.  Once you are done, simply
submit your results to us.  Then you can compare your results with those that joined us in person on March 5th, 2023. 

When you see that you are at the top of the pack for those that raced our course, we look forward to you joining us in person in 2024. 

 

All proceeds (100%) will go to Spirit North, a charity that works for empowering Indigenous youth through sport and play.  Spirit North was founded and is run by Beckie Scott, a former Canadian Olympian. The organization is recognized as one of Canada’s leading sport-for-social-development organizations.

To register for the Virtual Loppet, find the "Register Now" button on the top right of your desktop screen.  From a cell phone, scroll down to find the "Register Now" button.
