Now’s your chance to do it all from a true ski in ski out location on mountain at the “Griz Inn” just steps away from chair lifts and cross country trails to suit all abilities along with many other multi-use trails. Enjoy the best outdoor hot-tub on the mountain after a hard day’s ski!
Cross Country

No fee usage of RCR groomed track set looped Silk and Manchurian trails, 11 km, takes approximately 3 hours, 16 minutes to complete.

Fernie Nordic Society trails – honor system donation $10.00 to $15.00 / day numerous groomed and track set trails, including 3 km trail to Nordic Society Warming Hut on Mountain Fernie in the Provincial Park.

Once at Mount Fernie, the hardier can climb 8 km’s of groomed or old growth forest trails to world famous Island Lake Lodge where trails exist around the lake. It’s a great 8 km’s back down to the warming hut.
Downhillers and Boarders
Alpine skiers are no doubt aware of Legendary Fernie part of BC’s powder highway where annual average snowfall is 38 feet.
This is a self drive 3.5 hour trip from Calgary, costs are for accommodation with options of a 3 night stay in fully furnished apartment style condo’s or a 2 night stay in standard hotel rooms; also included is a Friday meet and greet from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and a Saturday evening dinner at the in house Rusty Edge Bar and Restaurant (Griz Inn Main Floor). Dinner complements of the Calgary Ski Club.
Lift tickets are responsibility of members so buy those RCR cards when they become available through the CSC website. Any other RCR season pass is also eligible for discount.
Your choice of a 3 night stay or a 2 day weekend stay.
There are a number of rooming options. Please read the descriptions carefully. We may be able to configure other rooming options.
3 Night Stay: Arrive Thursday - Check out Sunday
These are Condo Units with full kitchen. We have two different configurations. Please contact the Event Host for options if you want a different option.
3 Condo Units: (For the 3 Night Stay Only)
2 Units with 1 queen bedroom and a double pull out couch. These are set up as a Couple and a Single so capacity is 6 (2 units X 3 people).
Cost for 3 people (one Couple and a Single) in a room - per person would be $365.00.
Please contact the event host and we will do our best to fit you in. (If we get two couples and a condo is available I can set it up for 4 people at $275.00 per person.
1 Unit with a Queen bedroom and a loft with 2 sets of bunks - the bunks have a double bottom bunk and a single top bunk. (There are two washrooms in this unit).
Set up for for 4 people in a condo $275.00 per person. We can add people depending on comfort level with sharing and whether Singles or Couples.
If registration is closed, please contact the event host as we may be trying to balance room configurations.
2 Night Stay: There are 3 Options for People to Sign Up.
Arrive Friday, check out Sunday. These are hotel rooms with no cooking facilities. They have a bar fridge and an in-room sink. If you want an option that is not shown, contact the event host.
7 Hotel Units
1 Unit for a Couple - one Queen Bed, $185.00 per person. Both people must register and pay. Please let us know who your roommate is.
3 Units with 2 Beds (either 2 Queens or 1 Double and one Queen.)
Suitable for 2 people sharing (couple or non couple) $185.00 per person.
3 Units with a Double Bed and a Bunk Bed (upper and lower).
These will be three (3) to a room times 3 units - so 9 spots at $125.00 per person. Let us know if you have roommates - they will have to register and pay. If you do not have a roommate, let us know and we will try to match you up.
If you have other rooming options you want, please contact the Event Host and we will do our best to arrange pricing and accommodate you.
Itinerary
3 Day Stay
Thursday, January 26th
Drive to Fernie and check in. You may want to leave extra early and get in a day of skiing. Then Hot Tub to relax.
Friday, January 27th
Ski all day.
The 2 day weekend option - drive to Fernie and check in. Meet and greet 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday January 28
Relax and walk out your door to the slopes. Ski hard - whether Cross Country Skiing or Downhill. Cross Country Skier may require a walk or drive to the slopes. Dinner on the Club at the Griz Inn main floor - Rusty Edge Bar and Restaurant, 6:30 p.m. Hot tub or relax.
Sunday, January 29th
Check out, ski for as long as you want. There will be a checkout room provided for luggage storage until you leave. Head back to Calgary after an awesome weekend of skiing.
