Trip Description: We are changing things up this year with our mid-week Bus trip to Revelstoke. Revelstoke holds the record for the most snowfall in Canada in a single winter and has over 3000 acres and 75 runs spread out over glades, high alpine bowls, and fall line, so why go anywhere else? What's included: - A luxurious return bus trip from Calgary to Revelstoke - return -Light snack on the way out and alcoholic (and other) beverages (until the BC border) - Four (4) nights accommodations at the Sandman Inn. Each room includes a microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge. - A welcome dinner on Tuesday, March 7th after the first day of skiing (each member will receive a $30 subsidy). For Downhill Skiers: Revelstoke holds the record for the most snowfall in Canada in a single winter at 80 ft (24 m) Over 3000 acres and 75 runs of ski terrain spread out over glades, high alpine bowls, fall line skiing and groomed terrain (12% beginner, 43% intermediate and 45% advanced). Vertical of 1713m (5620ft) - the longest vertical descent of any ski resort in North America. For Cross country skiers: The Mount Macpherson trail system boasts 30 km of groomed trails for both skate and classic skiing. Nordic trails are managed and maintained by the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club. Itinerary: The following is the expected itinerary for this ski trip: - Monday, March 6th: Bus arrives 12:30 pm at the gravel parking area between Windsor Playwood and the Sandman Inn (142 Bowridge Dr NW) . Bus departs at 1 pm sharp. We stop for a quick bite at Golden (30 min) and pm hop on the Bus arrives at the Sandman Inn in Revelstoke around 6 pm. - Tuesday, March 7th: Catch the hill shuttle in front of the hotel and ski at Revelstoke all day. After skiing - 6 to 6:30 pm: Meet at Zalas Pizza & Steak house for our trip dinner (the CSC will cover $30/person) - Wednesday, March 8th: Rinse and Repeat - Thursday, March 9th: Rinse and Repeat - Friday, March 10th: Ski until 2:00 pm and hop on the trip bus which will be waiting at the hill. The trip bus will leave the hill at 2:30 pm sharp and arrive back at the Sandman Inn in Revelstoke. Two rooms will be set aside for people to change and the bus will leave for Calgary at 3:30 sharp. There will be a short stop in Golden for food, and the bus is expected to arrive in Calgary by 11 pm. Registration Notes: 1. The Category two sharing is for singles sharing a room. Most rooms have two queen beds, however we have reserved four (4) King Rooms for couples. Both people must register and pay. If you don't have a friend to share with, the organizer can assist. 2. The couple category is for couples (four King Beds are available, first come first serve). Both people must register and pay. The fees are per person. 3. A single category is also available for those who do not wish to share. The organizer reserves the right to limit the number of single registrations. Special Notes: 1. All hotel rooms are based on double occupancy. If required, the trip coordinator can assist in suggesting shared accommodations for those without a roommate. 2. Please email the trip coordinator before registering if you require single or family accommodations. 3. Lift tickets are the responsibility of attendees. Revelstoke is covered by the Mountain Collective pass. 4. Cross country skiers will need to organize their transport to and from the trails as there will be no cross country trip leader for this event. 5. Covid vaccinations required.
