About Us

The Calgary Ski Club was incorporated in 1935, making us the oldest outdoor recreational club in the City.  Since then, our mission has remained:

“to promote the joy of skiing and other directly related sports, in all their diversity and to foster fellowship, healthy living and adventure year-round among recreational skiers and outdoor enthusiasts.”

The focus of our Club, and our membership, has always been to share the fun and fellowship of the great outdoors with others. We provide opportunities for our members to enjoy all year round. That's why we are a Club for all seasons - and our slogan affirms" "We know snow ... and so much more!'

CSC is an All Ages Recreational Club

We have members of all ages and skill levels, willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.  We like to meet people and have fun, too!.

We are the only ski club that is focused purely on recreational pursuits - we are not looking to train racers.  CSC members are people who have a common passion for enjoying the outdoors in many ways - cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in Winter, and cycling and hiking in Summer.  Every year we offer our members unbeatable prices on trips and programs; and provide a wide range of activities - everything from single day carpool trips to the mountains, bus trips to resorts suitable for cross-country skiers, downhill skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers in Alberta, British Columbia and the Western United States; cross-country ski lessons fro children and adults and so much more. See our Events Calendar for more details on specific dates and programs being offered.

We do all the planning and organising of our events with volunteer coordinators.  All our events are posted on our Meet Up site so you get instant notification of new events being offered.. All you have to do is RSVP on the Meet Up site and show up!

We have a busy social schedule, including pub nights where too many wings are eaten and lots of sharing takes place, evenings dining with the President exploring good eats around the City, and child-friendly events for our Jackrabbits and their parents, all providing opportunities for the CSC members to get together and have some fun in the City. Our newsletter ( published by volunteers) keeps our members informed of these social events.

We encourage CSC members to contribute some of their time to the Club after they get to know the ropes.  Each of our activities is generally organised by one or two members.  Plan an event. Run a trip. Be a coordinator or participate on a committee. Serve as a Director on the CSC Council. Our Board of Directors is known as the CSC Council and Directors serve a one year term.  Getting involved is easy, and the rewards are great! For information on our Volunteer Recognition and Reward program, see CSC Rewards Program.

Everyone is welcome to come to our meetings and to participate in activities.  The best way to learn more about the Club and meet members is to come out to an activity!
